A wide variety of groups from schools, scouts, seniors groups, community clubs and many others have taken advantage of this opportunity. Feel free to come out have lunch and support the various community groups within our community On Saturday May 25, 2002 the Athlone School held a barbeque to raise money for their school projects. Many other community groups hold these events every year. Our children and their parents enjoy these events and are able to work together to raise money for their projects. Jim has continued to reach out into the community throughout his tenure as your MLA by hosting a number of community events. These events provide an opportunity for people to meet Jim and for him to, respond to questions and concerns as well as remain in touch with the community and its needs. Many local volunteers ensure the success of the events.
